SAFA NEC Welcome PSL

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of SAFA has welcomed the four member delegation from the Premier Soccer League (PSL). League Chairman Dr Irvin Khoza will be joined by Kaizer Motaung; Mato Madlala and Stanley Matthews in the SAFA NEC.
 
SAFA President Kirsten Nematandani says the team is strong and ready to govern football effectively for the benefit of players and all stakeholders. He says SAFA will meet with government and technical sponsors Adidas to close the debate regarding the Protea emblem on Bafana Bafana jersey.
 
The NEC has also confirmed a Bafana Bafana international friendly match against Namibia. The match will be played at the Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban on Wednesday the 3rd of March, as part of the 100 Days celebrations under the auspices of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Organising Committee.
 
SAFA CEO Leslie Sedibe has confirmed Esselen Park as Bafana Bafana’s base camp for the World Cup; the team will occupy the base camp on their return from Brazil and German camps in March and April respectively.
 
Sedibe says SAFA is confident that the World Cup will be delivered successfully by the Organising Committee; “the World Cup is in safe hands, and now our next challenge is to tactically plan development programs post World Cup, with the assistance of FIFA, we will be undergoing an organisational review, this is part of our strategy to reposition the Association as we prepare ourselves to tackle the challenges ahead. Football Development is one of our major targets, and this Organisational review will assist us to be effective and efficient in dealing with issues of Development;’ said Sedibe.
