The SAFA Coaching Department should therefore be guided by the following programme of strategic objectives:

 
1. Continue to run the Coaching Development Programme as a skills upgrade path for all our coaches with the following tasks as performance indicators:
 

1.1 Specify the admissions criteria;

1.2 Specifying the Criteria for Selection to the Coaching Development Courses

1.3 Continue to train coaches at Level One

1.4 Continue to train coaches at Level Two

1.5 Continue to train coaches at Level Three

1.6 Continue to train coaches on Youth training

1.7 Continue to train coaches as Instructors

1.8 Continue to train coaches as Goalkeeper trainers

1.9 Establish the NSL/PSL Coaches Forum

1.10 Establish the Football Development Academy Coaches Forum

1.11 Develop the Football Development Academy requirements according to its environment factors

1.12 The Talent Identification System

1.13 The Credentialing, Licensing and Validation of Coaches

1.14 Technical Analysis of International Match Reports

1.15 Provision of Technical Assistance to National Teams

· On the 26th September – 3rd October 2005, two Safa female instructors (Anna Monate – Banyana banyana Assistant coach and Marion February) attended FIFA Futuro III at the Sandton Convention Centre.

They were part of more than 50 coaches from all over Africa taking part. The lectures were conducted by Swedish FIFA Instructor Pia Sundhage & her counterpart Gabriel Calderon.

 
· The South African Football Association and German Football Association (DFB) have a good relationship during the tenure of the former Director of Coaching, Mr. Horst Kriete.

The following coaches have gone through a very intensive advance one/two month course in Germany/Leipzig. The course is sponsored by the German Foreign Office and the University of Leipzig.

· The Coaching Education has conducted courses for different institutions and football clubs in the past and present. e.g. RAU, Crawford College, Dainfern FC, NW University of Potchestroom.

 
· The SAFA Coaching Education has a good relationship with the Department of Sport and Creation in KZ Natal. The project is part of the department goal to empower coaches from disadvantage areas as the lead to 2010. They have catered all 11 districts in Durban (i.e. 6 regions) namely:
 

1) SAFA Ukhahlamba

2) SAFA Uthukela (Ladysmith)

3) SAFA Ethekwini ( Durban)

4) SAFA Ilembe ( Durban)

5) SAFA Umngungundlovu ( Margate)

6) SAFA Zululand (Nongoma)

 
Even Department of Education & Department of Cultural Affair & Sport are coming on board.
