The South African National Developmental Team Coaches Khabo Zondo and Simon Ngomane have named a 20-man squad which will compete in the COSAFA Senior Challenge in Zimbabwe in just over a week's time.

As part of the team's preparations, the South African Football Association has lined up an international friendly match against Namibia. The team travelled to the Namibian Capital Windhoek on Friday (16 October) with the match against their Namibian counterparts scheduled for Tuesday (20 October) at the Sam Nujoma stadium, kick off is 20h00.

The Developmental team will play their opening match in the COSAFA Senior Challenge against Angola on Monday (26 October) in Bulawayo.

Joint-Coach Khabo Zondo says the team is looking good and they are ready for the challenge.

“The mood in the camp is very good, the guys are ready and looking forward to the challenge ahead, we are going to use the friendly match against Namibia on Tuesday to look at the team thoroughly and make final adjustments. We are going to play against Angola in our first match and since we do not know yet which team they have in the tournament, we will be looking at their matches on video, but that will only be next week,” said Zondo.

The COSAFA Senior Challenge kicks off on Saturday (17 October) with Tanzania taking on Lesotho at 13:30 and Zimbabwe facing Lesotho at 15:00, both matches will be played in Harare.
