Extension of the deadline For submission of applications to the 2010 FIFA World Cup Legacy trust

2012-08-29

Dr Danny Jordaan, Chairperson of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Legacy Trust, today announced that the Board has agreed to extend the closing date for submission of applications for funding and support from the Trust to the 30 September 2012 after receiving various requests from football structures for postponement.

This extension, will however, not affect the December announcement by the Board of the successful applicants.

This extension will give all football structures and clubs an opportunity to register as Public Benefit Organisations with the South African Revenue Services, an important criterion for any structure applying for funds from the Trust.

To date the Trust has received 213 applications from Football Structures (Gauteng 45; Western Cape 37, Limpopo 26, Kwazulu Natal 21, Eastern Cape 20, etc) with most coming from clubs.
The Trust urges everyone not to wait until the new deadline since it will not be possible to consider any further postponement
