16 June 2019 – Banyana Banyana midfielder Kholosa Biyana is confident the squad will do well against the second ranked nation in women’s football, Germany, when they clash in the last group stages match on Monday, 17 June in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup currently underway in France.

The encounter takes place at Stade de la Mosson in Montpellier.

Kickoff is at 18h00.

South Africa has lost their last two games in the tournament to Spain and China.

Banyana Banyana still harbour hopes of making it to the second round of the competition with a win over the Germans, but will also depend on the results between Spain and China in Group B who kickoff simultaneously – a draw in the latter match will knock Desiree Ellis’ charges out of the tournament.

South Africa is bottom of Group B, while Germany leads the table with six points. Spain and China have three points each.

Here are the latest group standings:

GROUP B

Spain 2 1 0 1 3 2 1 3
China PR 2 1 0 1 1 1 0 3
